A “luxurious inn” located in Alnwick in Northumberland has been revealed as one of the UK’s best pubs for a winter weekend, according to The Guardian.

If you’re wondering where you can spend a cosy night or two in the county, Joiners Arms “tucked away” in the village of Newton-by-the-Sea could be for you.

The pub which offers traditional meals is said to “come alive” at night.

When it comes to places to stay, rooms at the Joiners Arms have many features from timber beams to Juliet balconies.

On Tripadvisor, Joiners Arms has also been highly-praised with a current rating of 4/5 out of 2,019 reviews.

One frequent visitor said: “Once again, lovely food and a warm welcome from the staff. Accompanied by our our large greyhound in this dog friendly pub. Went in the early evening when it was pleasantly busy. Nothing too much trouble for the staff and all reasonably priced.”

Another added: “Came up with my family to celebrate mine and my dads birthday for a Sunday roast; it couldn’t have been any better the food was incredible and our festive cocktails after our food made my Teegan and Aidan were beautiful.

“The service from start to finish was great from the whole team and Pippa loved her food from the Dog menu!”
