The Met Office has announced a yellow rain warning for Monday (January 29) which covers the North East.
The forecaster has warned that the deluge may impact travel and cause flooding in the following areas:
- Darlington
- Durham
- Hartlepool
- Middlesbrough
- Redcar and Cleveland
- Stockton-on-Tees
Prolonged rain is expected to become heavy at times during Monday afternoon and Monday evening with 20-30mm of rain expected to fall in some places.
The warning is currently in place from 12pm today and remains in place until 5am Tuesday (January 30) morning.
