A bail hearing for a man accused of killing a one-year-old toddler will be held on Monday.
Chris Stockton, 37, appeared in court on Friday morning charged with the murder of Charlie Roberts.
He and the child’s mother, Paula Roberts, 40, are both charged with child neglect.
Charlie died the day after an incident at their home in Frosterley Drive, Darlington, on Friday, January 12, which left him critically injured.
They both appeared at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on Friday morning.
Stockton has been remanded into custody until the hearing at Teesside Crown Court on Monday while Roberts was granted conditional bail.
A plea and trial preparation hearing has been fixed for February 23.
