A North East KFC branch has closed its doors after nearly a decade in the area.
The food giant first opened its branch on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough in 2015, taking over from the former Sassari restaurant.
They have directed those looking for their next “chicken fix” to instead visit Middlehaven Heath Road – the next closest branch, located a 1.4 mile drive from its shuttered unit.
The brand said its staff will be joining other restaurants under its banner in the area, and added they look forward to serving their “loyal fans.”

A KFC spokesperson said: "It's been a great run at our Linthorpe Road restaurant, but sadly all good things must come to an end.
“Our amazing team members are now joining nearby restaurants, ready to serve our loyal fans their next fried chicken fix.
“Nearest restaurant is Middlehaven Heath Road – see you there!”
