Police searching for a missing Darlington man have found a body in the River Skerne.
Officers looking for 62-year-old Martin Clark made the discovery at the Victoria Embankment on Saturday (January 20) evening.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but his family have been informed.
Martin had not been seen since last Sunday (January 14) when he was sighted walking onto Parkside from Coleridge Gardens in the town, at about 11am.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Durham Police said: “We are sorry to report that officers searching for missing Darlington man, Martin Clark, have found a body.

“Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of the 62-year-old have been informed.
“Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
