A farmer sustained chemical burns to his legs after an 'explosion' incident in a North Yorkshire village on Sunday (January 21) afternoon.
Emergency services were called to an incident in Folkton, near Scarborough, at about 1.55pm, following reports of an incident involving cleaning chemicals.
After arriving on the scene, the fire service and paramedics found a farmer who had been burnt by the chemicals he was using to clean his farm machinery.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have described the incident as an 'explosion' - and noted that paramedics at the scene treated him.

No further details have been provided at this time about the condition of the farmer, but the emergency services made the site safe by diluting down the chemicals and covering it with sand.
A spokesperson for the fire service added: "A crew from Scarborough responded to a chemical incident where a farmer was heating a horticultural irrigation cleaning chemical before use when it exploded, causing burns to his legs.
"The casualty was treated by paramedics. Crews made the remainder of the chemical safe by diluting it with water and covering it with sand."
