A man who ran around on a roof and swung off a lamppost has been arrested on suspicion of prison recall.
Teesdale Terrace, in Thornaby, was closed off for over two hours on Thursday (January 18) afternoon after the man made his way onto the roof.
Eyewitnesses said the man was running around on the roof trying to keep warm.
Video shows him swinging off the top of a lamppost before climbing back onto the roof.
One concerned resident said: “I'm worried he might slip, he keeps walking to the edge and the tiles are all new and they're the smooth ones. It's not good for the kids to see."
He was reportedly taken a coat and cigarette by firefighters, before coming down from the roof two hours later.
He was taken away in the back of a police van.
Cleveland Police have today confirmed the man was arrested on suspicion of prison recall.
A force spokesperson said: “Officers attended an address on Teesdale Terrace, Thornaby, around 3:15pm on Thursday 18th January where a man made his way onto the roof of the property.
