The Met Office are predicting another freezing day in Darlington today.

Temperatures will remain below 0C for most of the day.

Despite the bitter cold the sun will be out from 9am until 4pm this afternoon.

They are predicting it to be a still day, with wind speeds not picking up more than 10mph.

There will be highs of 2C and lows of -3C, with the sun due to set at 16.16pm.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Dry and bright with long sunny spells for much of the region, but remaining very cold.

"Cloudier and breezier towards coasts, with scattered wintry showers and some further icy patches, though showers tending to ease later. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

"A largely dry, clear and very cold evening and night ahead. Breeziest towards coasts. Severe frosts developing overnight, with a further risk of icy patches."
