The A66 in Teesside was left at a standstill and miles of queuing traffic after a crash that saw police at the scene on Tuesday (January 16) afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the A66 in Thornaby at about 12pm, following reports of a collision on the stretch of A-road.
During the incident, traffic was seen queuing back towards Teesside Park, which saw cars, vans and HGVs have to negotiate one lane, while police dealt with the incident.

In images of the scene, taken by Teespix, a grey Nissan Qashqai could be seen in the left lane of the A66 westbound with two police vehicles behind it.

The images also show the grey Nissan with slight damage to its front left side, while the rest of the vehicle seems to be okay.
According to AA, the lane of the A66 has reopened and traffic levels are back to a normal level next to Teesside Park.
The Northern Echo has contacted Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service for further comment.
