It is set to be a cloudy day with some showers Darlington and across the North East today as the Met Office predicts rain.
Colder temperatures and showers are set to hit Darlington today (January 10) as Met Office forecasters suggest possible heavy showers changing to an overcast and cloudy afternoon.
Today, temperatures will stay even at 5C throughout the day and not drop this evening but will feel closer to freezing, around 2C according to forecasters.
During the night and heading into Thursday, this could create some frost in rural areas, says the Met Office as they forecast lows of 0C in the early hours of the morning.
Light wind is also forecast throughout the day but will only reach a high of 9mph, with the sun due to set at 4:03pm.
