Police have warned a main road is to be closed for several hours following a serious collision this evening. (Tuesday, January 9)
Emergency services were called to the A172 near Swainby at around teatime and the road remains shut.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “One of the main routes near Stokesley is currently closed due to a serious crash.
“The A172 near Swainby will be shut for a number of hours to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
“Access from the A19 is not currently possible and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.”
