A man was detained after a North East police dog working with his handler stopped a man who allegedly made off from the scene of a theft.
Police dog Kuro and PC Whitehouse responded to a report of theft at the One Stop on Birkdale Road in Stockton, at around 11:55am on Monday (January 8).
The suspect was detained by the canine as he allegedly made off from the Hartburn shop.
Police confirmed a number of items were recovered following the incident.

A man, 43, was charged with theft from a shop and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on January 25.
“A suspect was detained after police dog Kuro and handler PC Whitehouse responded to a report of theft at the One Stop on Birkdale Road, Hartburn in Stockton, around 11:55am on Monday 8th January.
“A man was detained by police dog Kuro as he allegedly made off from the scene. A number of items were recovered.”
