A 5-year-old girl has sustained injuries after a crash between two cars on a busy A road on Monday (January 1).
An unknown vehicle collided with a white Peugeot 5008 between 1:05pm and 1:10pm on the eastbound carriageway of the A66, just prior to the slip road for Borough Road in North Ormesby.
The 45-year-old woman driving the Peugeot was not hurt, but the passenger, a 5-year-old girl sustained a minor injury to her hip.
The other vehicle did not stop at the scene, as police now appeal to the public for witnesses and dash cam footage of the incident.
Cleveland Police have said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference SE24000353."
