A County Durham leisure centre will close to undergo refurbishment works and is planned to reopen in the summer.
Teesdale Leisure Centre, located on Strathmore Road in Barnard Castle, will be closing its doors on February 11 to carry out the renovations.
The works will see changes to the reception area, a new ‘changing village’ for the swimming pool, and an updated pool heating system.
A new soft play area is also planned to be added to the leisure centre.
A ‘Move Hub’ featuring power-assisted technology for those who need support or those with long term health conditions will also be installed.
A spokesperson for Teesdale Leisure Centre said: “The leisure centre will need to close after Sunday, February 11 to allow us to carry out the works.
