Durham Constabulary have confirmed that the three men and two women who had been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Consett, have been released on bail while enquiries into the incident are still ongoing.
After an incident in the early hours of Wednesday, December 27 on Front Street in Consett, County Durham one man in his 30’s was stabbed in the chest and another man in his 30’s suffered a facial injury.
In a statement, Durham Constabulary confirmed: “The victims do not have life-threatening injuries and are expected to make full recoveries in due course.”
The North East Ambulance Service confirmed the incident and said they were called around 2.23am where they dispatched two double crewed ambulances and requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance response car who responded in a Rapid Response Vehicle.
The two injured men were immediately taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

Yesterday morning Police had cordoned off the area where the incident took place. A forensic investigation took place in the area covering Maddison’s Coffee Bar and Bistro and the alleyway beside the café that leads to the back of Palmerston Street.
