The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed that two were taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary early Wednesday Morning after an incident had taken place on Front Street, Consett, County Durham.
The North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident on Front Street, Consett, at 2.23 this morning (Wednesday 27 December). We dispatched two double crewed ambulances and requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance response car. Two patients were taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary."
The Great North Air Ambulance also attended the incident in a Rapid Response Vehicle.
They said: “Our crew were activated at 2:44 am to an incident in County Durham. Our doctor and critical care paramedic went to the incident via our Rapid Response Vehicle, they arrived on the scene at 3:07 am, and worked with NEAS to stabilise the patient. The crew accompanied the patient to the hospital by road.”
Police had cordoned off the area from Maddisons Coffee Bar and Bistro covering the alleyway beside the café that leads to the back of Palmerston Street.
Forensic officials also attended the scene to assess the cordoned area before police removed the Cordon.
When Northern Echo attended the scene the Police Cordons had been removed and the area was quiet with heavy rainfall.

Residents in Delves Lane, The Grove and Consett Centre also reported loud helicopter noise in the early hours of the morning.
