Two teenagers have died following a car crash on Friday.
A three vehicle collision on the A192, in Cramlington, saw a huge emergency response at 9.30pm on Friday night (December 22).
Police later confirmed that Connor Lapworth, 18, and 15-year-old Corey Mavin, both of Blyth and who were both inside a Suzuki, died as a result of the collision.
The families of both Connor and Corey are being supported by specialist Family Liaison Officers at this devastating time.
Two other people who were in the Suzuki – males aged 41 and 17 – suffered serious injuries in the collision and were admitted to hospital where they remain at this time.
The 36-year-old female driver of a Range Rover suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while the 52-year-old female driver of a Ford Focus was uninjured in the collision.
A spokesperson from Northumbria Police said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are firmly with the family and loved ones of the two young people who have sadly lost their lives and those who have suffered injuries in this collision.
"We will offer them all of the support they need and ask that their privacy is respected at this time.
"We are asking that anyone who may have seen the moments leading up to the collision or have information regarding the three vehicles involved being driven in the area to contact us immediately.

"Your information, no matter how small you feel it may be, could help us to ascertain exactly what happened.
