A hard-working dog is in for an extra large helping of Christmas dinner this year, after helping to keep his community safe.
Police dog Moose works with Cleveland Police, and this week helped officers in Eaglescliffe, Stockton, track down a suspect after an alleged 2-in-1 burglary on Thursday (December 21).
An alleged burglary was from a house on The Fairway in Eaglescliffe in the early hours of Thursday (around 1.40am). The incident saw a whole host of officers from Dog Section, CPSOU, armed response and response teams swamp the area.
The car, a Kia which had been reported stolen, was found shortly after in the Pottery Wharf area of Thornaby.
Several people were seen running from the area at which point Moose was deployed, detaining a 16-year-old boy who will be questioned.
The force celebrated Moose's crime fighting success, saying: "We think Police Dog Moose deserves an extra helping of turkey and gravy on the Big Day after helping officers who were investigating a report of a stolen vehicle.
