Organisers of an annual science fiction festival have announced their first guest for the 2024 convention.
Wendy Padbury, who played Doctor Who's second companion, Zoe Heriot, in 1968 is to appear at Sci-Fi Scarborough (SFS).
SFS is getting ready for its 2024 event, celebrating a decade of successful conventions, at Scarborough Spa on April 20 and 21.
Zoe, the first guest to sign up for the 2024 convention, reprised her role in several notable episodes of Doctor Who and also lent her voice to multiple characters in Big Finish's audio adventures.
After her stint with Doctor Who, she gained further exposure through her performance in the stage play 'Doctor Who and the Daleks in Seven Keys to Doomsday.'
SFS organiser Steve Dickinson said: "So here we go again, it’s 10 years of SFS in 2024 and we plan to celebrate with the usual interesting mix of TV and film guests, comic book artists and interactive content - but raising the bar a bit more than we usually do.
"There is an incredible amount of work going in behind the scenes to make SFS 2024 a special year to remember for our 10th anniversary."
