A devastated family have paid tribute to a young father of twins who died following an alleged assault in the North East.
Bradley Lee William Tams passed away following an alleged assault on Cartmel Green in Slatyford, Newcastle, just before midnight on December 6.
A statement released by his grieving family today, as they prepare for Christmas without him, said: “He was the funniest kid with an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile”
Northumbria Police said the 23-year-old suffered serious injuries consistent with having been caused by a bladed article and died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency responders.
Bradley was the oldest of seven brothers and sisters.
Eldest sister Lauren said: “I don’t even know how we can describe Bradley, he can be described in so many words. He was an absolute character, to say the least. He was the funniest person you could come across.
“When we lost our father, he became a father figure to us as well. From that moment on, he saw himself as the man of the house.
“I don’t think we can process it, it still hasn’t sunk in. Even now, we’re waiting for him to turn up or to give us a call.
“All I know is it’s caused us a lot of pain.”
Bradley was a dad to twin boys and a stepfather to his partner’s eight-year-old, and he enjoyed fishing having previously taken up hobbies such as kickboxing and football with Lauren.

Julie Weatherson, Bradley’s mother, said: “Bradley was my absolute world. He adored his twin boys.
“Bradley would be the one who woke everybody up at Christmas, he would be up at six o’clock in the morning.
“People ask are you all right and how are you feeling? No, I’m not. I’m trying to put a brave face on, we are all devastated.
"Bradley’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers at this time and we ask that their privacy is respected at this time."
A man and a woman have been charged with Bradley’s murder and have appeared in court. A further three people remain on police bail as enquiries remain ongoing.
Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact police using the ‘Report’ pages of the Northumbria Police website or call 101, quoting reference: NP-20231206-1129.
