A lucky bingo player has won a massive jackpot after landing £50,000 on one game of bingo.
The lucky local had been playing on one of the club’s electronic tablets when she scooped the jackpot on Wednesday, December 6, on Mecca’s exclusive Big Bonus game.
It's understood that the lucky woman was playing the game at Mecca's Stockton branch when the jackpot was won.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is known to be a regular at the club on Chandlers Wharf.
Mecca launched Big Bonus, which costs £1 to play, earlier this year. Exclusive to Mecca, the game is played twice a day, in Mecca’s clubs nationwide, with the jackpot growing steadily until it’s won.

Gemma Stott was the duty manager at the club on the night of the big win and described the shock that befell the club.
She said: “Everyone in the club froze when Stockton appeared on the monitor, and we realised that someone in the room had won. Then the customer showed me the screen on her tablet with the £51,996 win!
“Everyone started whooping and clapping. There was a fantastic atmosphere in the club and the venue was buzzing for the rest of the evening. It’s the perfect winter windfall, just before Christmas. We’re just overjoyed for the winner.”
Alastair Stewart, head of commercial operations at the National Bingo Game said: “We were so excited to hear about the lucky National Bingo Game £50,000 Jackpot winner at Mecca Stockton and hope that she enjoys spending her winnings. We love making big winners, and it’s great to see a regular player win such a life changing amount at bingo!”
