Nearly 500 homes have been left without power this evening (December 14) in County Durham.
Northern Powergrid have confirmed that 460 homes in Pelton Fell, west of Chester-le-Street, have been left without power tonight.
It is unknown how long homes have been left in the dark, but Northern Powergrid have confirmed they are aware of the cut, which has been caused by cable issues.
Power is expected to be restored by 12am.
On their website, Northern Powergrid said: "The power cut affecting your property has been caused by an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve your area."
"If you need to report an emergency, please call 105."
