2023 has certainly been a year to remember in the North East for music - but as the year comes to an end it's time to look forward to 2024 and the many stars who will take to the stage in the region very soon.

This year we've seen Queen Bey in Sunderland, Sam Fender perform the ultimate Geordie Homecoming, JLS and even The Arctic Monkeys in Middlesbrough.

But, next year promises to be just as exciting for music in the region as several big names have confirmed their tours will stop in venues across the North East.

Bring Me The Horizon

Calling all heavy metal fans, you're in for a treat as Sheffield band Bring Me The Horizon will perform at Newcastle's Utilita Arena to kick off the year in music in the North East.

The group are best known for viral track Can You Feel My Heart but have recently seen acclaim for new release DArkSide.

Rick Astley 

He's never going to give the North East up or let us down! Rick Astley is back in the region and will take to the stage at Newcastle's Utilita Arena in February.

Embarking on a European tour, the Never Gonna Give You Up hitmaker will tour following the release of his new album Are We There Yet?

The Pretenders

Kicking off their 2024 tour at Gateshead's Glasshouse International Centre for Music, the 1978 British American rock band will grace the North East with their presence next year.

The band boast over 8m monthly listeners on Spotify, and are best known for their hits 2000 miles, Brass In Pocket, Back on the Chain Gang and Don't Get Me Wrong.

NE-YO

Taking to stages across the UK for his Champagne And Roses Tour 2024 with special guest Mario, the Arkansas RnB star will come to Newcastle's Utilita Arena in March.

He's best known for 2008 hit Miss Independent and his collaboration with Pitbull on chart topping track Time of Our Lives.

Declan McKenna

24-year-old artist Declan McKenna will take the stage at Newcastle's O2 City Hall in March on his UK and Ireland tour, following a stint of new year shows in Australia.

McKenna grosses over 5m monthly Spotify listeners, and is known for the track Brazil from his 2017 album release What Do You Think About the Car?

Slash

Saul Hudson, better known as Slash will take to the O2 City Hall in Newcastle on his The River Is Rising - Rest of the World Tour.

The British rocker was a former member of iconic rock band Guns N' Roses, and is well known for his hits World on Fire and Anastasia.

April 4, 2024

James Blunt

Blunt's brief stop in the UK on his world tour following the release of new album Who We Used to Be will be at Newcastle's Utilita Arena.

The 49-year-old has been active from 2003 onwards, and has had multiple chart hits including You're Beautiful and Goodbye My Lover.

April 29 & May 11, 2024

Paloma Faith

Newcastle's O2 City Hall in April and Stockton's Globe in May are the two stops scheduled for Paloma Faith next summer.

The shows have already sold out online to see the Stoke born 42-year-old, who has seen acclaim for single Only Love Can Hurt Like This and Lullaby with Sigala.

Bruce Springsteen

Born in the USA, but now live in the North East! Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tour kicks off in 2024 and will grace Sunderland's Stadium of Light on May 22.

His top hits including Dancing in the Dark, I'm on Fire and Streets of Philadelphia surely will make up the setlist to send fans wild.

May 24, 2024

Take That

Perhaps the most anticipated gig in the North East next year is Take That who will take to Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough on their UK tour.

This latest round of shows comes after the release of their newest album This Life, but the band have seen worldwide success for their music including hits Patience, Shine, Back for Good and Rule The World.

May 31 - June 2, 2024

Girls Aloud

In a reunion no-one could have expected, one of the biggest girl bands of the noughties, Girls Aloud, is back together and will be touring next year.

Following huge demand, the group will take to the stage at Newcastle's Utilita Arena for three nights. 

They're best known for pop chart toppers Love Machine, Sound of the Underground and Jump.

James

This will be James' second appearance in the North East in under a year, following their performance at Darlington Arena in August 2023. 

They'll take to Newcastle's Utilita Arena in June.

James Arthur

Middlesbrough born X-Factor winner James Arthur is coming back to his roots next year for a show in Newcastle.

Embarking on his Bitter Sweet Love World Tour, James is most noted for his track Say You Won't Let Go which has garnered millions of streams on Spotify.

Doja Cat

Doja Cat is set to Paint The Town Red next year as she sets off on her European tour.

Newcastle's Utilita Arena will be her fourth stop before moving across to Spain, France and Scandinavia. 

The breakout star has gained fame for viral hit Agora Hills as well as Kiss Me More featuring Grammy nominated artist SZA.

Noah Kahan

Following on from his November 2023 gig at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall, Grammy Nominee Noah Kahan is set to make a triumphant return to the region after performing to a packed-out audience this year.

The folk singer is most known for chart-topper hit Stick Season that has seen wide acclaim across social media.

Niall Horan

Former One Direction member and now soloist Niall Horan will perform at Newcastle's Utilita arena on one of the final stops on tour following the release of his album The Show.

Since leaving the globally acclaimed boyband, Horan has released tracks including Heaven and new single Meltdown.

August 16 & October 13, 2024

Becky Hill

Best known for her 2022 track Crazy What Love Can Do, 29-year-old Becky Hill rose to fame in 2012 after appearing on The Voice.

She was also the first The Voice contestant to reach number one with single Gecko (Overdrive) with MNEK. 

 Next October, she'll hit Newcastle's Utilita Arena but not before she appears at Hardwick Festival in Crook in August.

Scouting for Girls

Many fans will have booked to see Scouting for Girls in a Heartbeat as they embark on an Autumn tour across the UK.

On November 4, they'll take to the stage at Middlesbrough's Town Hall.

To date, the group have achieved 8 top 40 singles and have sold over 4 million records in the UK.
