A boy has been discharged from hospital after being hit by a car.
Police received a report of the incident between 3.10pm and 3.30pm on Thursday, December 7.
The 12-year-old boy had been crossing Allendale Road, opposite the Fox Public House in Hexham when he was struck by a small purple vehicle, which officers believe may have been a Suzuki.
The driver of the vehicle then left the scene without stopping and the boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was later discharged.
Officers immediately launched an investigation into the incident and are now appealing for witnesses to contact them.
