The A1(M) between Ripon and Catterick is closed this morning (December 14) after a crash last night.
The collision was reported at 11.15pm and emergency services attended the scene.
A stretch of the motorway is closed from J50 to J52 and remains closed this morning.
There is a diversion route in place for motorists to follow.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The A1 motorway between Ripon (J50) and Catterick (J52) has been closed in both directions due to a serious collision.
"The collision was reported at around 11.15pm on Wednesday 13 December.
"The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
"Motorists and asked to follow the diversions put in place and follow @HighwaysYORKS for the latest information.
"We will provide more information when we are able."
