It is set to be a dry yet chilly in Darlington and across the North East today (December 11) as the Met Office predicts low temperatures set to feel as low as 1C by evening.

As we move closer to Christmas and the peak of winter, temperatures are staying low in Darlington as cloud and frequent showers continue to dominate the weather forecast.

Today, temperatures will reach a high of 7C from 12pm, but is then set to drop to a low of 2C by 11pm this evening.

Light wind is also forecast throughout the day but will only reach a high of 7mph, with the sun due to set at 3:40pm.

Following a dry start to the week, the forecaster has also stated that “strong winds and periods of rain” will hit the region from Wednesday to the end of the week, set to cause frost from cold snaps.

The forecaster predicts: “Mostly dry and bright through Monday. Isolated showers possible through the afternoon, mainly affecting the far north, as well as coastal areas.

“Generally light winds, with temperatures around average. Maximum temperature 7 °C.”
