Businesses and individuals in the North East have been listed on the latest government update on tax defaulters.

The Publishing Details of Deliberate Defaulters (PDDD) scheme provides details on people and companies given financial penalties for failing to comply with tax obligations or filing errors in tax returns on purpose.

Information is published when a person or business has made at least one deliberate default on more than £25,000, according to HMRC.

The list is updated every three months before the information is removed after a year.

Here are the individuals and businesses from the list first published on December 7, 2023:

Northern Bespoke Developments Ltd

  • Northern Bespoke Developments Ltd, construction holding company, defaulted on tax between 1 May 2015 to 30 Apr 2016.
  • Based at The Rakish, Ayton Road, Stokesley, Middlesbrough, TS9 5JN.
  • Total amount of tax/duty on which penalties are based: £84,983. 
  • Total amount of penalties charged: £40,154.40. 

Tolga Vural

  • Tolga Vural (formerly trading as ‘Pizza Bello’), a hot food takeaway, defaulted on tax between 1 Jul 2018 to 19 Oct 2019.
  • Formerly of 4 Eddison Road, Washington, NE38 8JH.
  • Total amount of tax/duty on which penalties are based: £59,122.
  • Total amount of penalties charged: £27,935.14.

BMB Corrosion Prevention Consultancy Ltd

  • BMB Corrosion Prevention Consultancy Ltd, a consultancy firm, defaulted on tax between 6 Apr 2020 to 5 Apr 2022.
  • Basted at 58 Low Friar Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5UD and formerly of Blyth Workspace, Commissioners Quay, Quay Road, Blyth, NE24 3AF.
  • Total amount of tax/duty on which penalties are based: £43,400.
  • Total amount of penalties charged: £43,400.

Iffy's Food Limited

  • Iffy’s Food Limited (Formerly trading as ‘Iffy’s Takeaway’), a takeaway, defaulted on tax between 1 Sep 2018 to 30 Oct 2019.
  • Formerly of 56-61 Dovecot Street, Stockton On Tees, TS18 1LJ.
  • Total amount of tax/duty on which penalties are based: £26,723.
  • Total amount of penalties charged: £12,626.61.
