A County Durham landmark has appeared on TV after a popular TV broadcaster visited it as he continues to tour across the region.

During last night's (December 4) episode of Matt Baker: Travels with Mum & Dad on More 4, the trio visited the beautiful landscapes and tourism of Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens.

The show, which tracks Durham's own Matt Baker and his parents across the North East, has so far shown Alnwick Castle, High Force, Bowes Museum, and other familiar surroundings.

During the episode, the trio got a chance to get a sneak peek at a collection that has been largely unknown for years.

In the aftermath of the episode, the tourist attraction has been called 'beautiful' and a 'gem' by Durham County Council, who have highlighted the importance of landmarks, heritage and the fact that programmes are broadcast in County Durham and the North East.
