Police are investigating after a man was left with serious injuries and five teenagers were arrested following an altercation at a County Durham bus station.
Officers from Durham Police were called to Stanley bus station at around 6pm on Saturday (December 2), following reports of an ongoing altercation involving several people.
An 18-year-old man suffered serious injuries during the incident. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
A 16-year-old boy was also injured during the incident, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.
Five teenagers, all males aged between 13 and 18, have been arrested and taken into police custody, where they are currently being questioned by officers.

The bus station was sealed off during the evening to allow police to investigate at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information that could help the investigation, should contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 326 of December 2.
