A County Durham pub has announced that it has closed its doors after its owners issued an emotional farewell message to the people who have supported them.
The owners of the Top House in Stanley, based on Front Street and owned by Camerons Brewery, revealed that they would be closing for good on Wednesday (November 29).
In a post on Wednesday, the venue owners said: "Well, we shut the doors tonight, so a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us through every moment in there. It’s been a massive success, especially in the current situation businesses are in.
"All our customers are fantastic and we would never been a success without you all. A massive thanks from us here at the Top House.
We thank every member of staff who made it possible past and present, as you all played a part."
The post then went on to thank the DJs, door staff, cleaners and each person who has worked there.
The post continues: "Thank you to the people of Stanley - we put the Top House on the map again with all the events and you supported us every week."
While the post goes on to say the current owners will be stepping back, it does add that "You never know, we could be back. I never say never, but who knows, we are having a break now."
This isn't the only pub that has decided to close over recent times.
In October, The Fox & Hounds at Neasham, near Darlington, announced it was be permanently closing.
It said it hopes an agreement with new tenants can be reached and the pub can reopen soon.
