A man has been arrested following a serious two-vehicle collision in Eston which took place on Wednesday 15th November.
The collision happened on Eston High Street at the junction with Birchington Avenue shortly after 3pm, involving a white Mercedes and a white Renault van.
The female driver of the Mercedes, aged in her thirties, suffered life-threatening injuries to her head and pelvis, and she was taken to James Cook University Hospital where she remains whilst receiving treatment.
The driver of the Renault suffered minor injuries.
A man aged in his sixties was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has now been bailed whilst enquiries continue.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said at the time: "We were called to a road traffic collision in Meadowgate, Middlesbrough, today (15 November) shortly after 3pm.
"We dispatched two double-crewed ambulances, two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), one clinical team leader, one doctor and we were supported by our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service. Two patients were taken to James Cook University Hospital by road."
