A power cut near central Durham has left dozens of homes without power today (November 15).
Some 140 homes in Nevilles Cross are expected to have no power until at least 8pm this evening following an unexpected power cut.
Northern Powergrid has confirmed they are aware of the cut and have said it has been caused by a cable problem.
"The power cut affecting your property has been caused by an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve your area. If you need to report an emergency, please call 105."
The widespread cut has also affected traffic lights, with the A690 Crossgate Peth and A167 Newcastle Road currently off.

In a short statement on Facebook, Durham County Council has confirmed they are aware of the disruption to the signals.
They said: "The traffic signals at Neville's Cross are currently off due to a Northern Powergrid power failure in the area.
"The team are currently investigating. Please check back for details."
