A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car left the road and crashed into a wooden fence in County Durham.
Durham Police have appealed for witnesses following the collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf in Chilton at about 11.55am yesterday (Monday, November 14).
Police said the driver left the scene, while the passenger suffered serious leg injuries.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "The incident happened on Denebridge Row, Chilton, at around 11.55am and involved a black Volkswagen Golf.
"The car is believed to have left the road and struck a wooden fence, leaving the front seat passenger with serious injuries to his legs.
"He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains today.
"The driver of the vehicle is believed to have made off from the scene."

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the vehicle prior to the incident.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic collision yesterday (13 November) on Denebridge Road, Durham shortly after midday.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew, one rapid response paramedic and support from our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was taken to University Hospital of North Durham by road."
Anyone who can help is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 152 of November 13.
