Dog lovers looking for a new bud will be happy to learn there are dozens of dogs up for adoption in Darlington.
Dogs Trust Darlington have plenty of rescue dogs looking for a forever home this November.
We have compiled a list of seven pups hoping to bring some light into their new owner's lives.
Blue - Malinois
This energetic lad is looking for an active household who can match his need for physical exercise and mental simulation.
The centre have recommended Blue be given a garden of his own where some of his activities can take place.
This pup will need company at home to help him settle and build towards being left at home alone.
He can live with children aged 16 and over
Patch - English Springer Spaniel
This poor boy has had a difficult life and needs the right home who are willing to work with him and our rehabilitation trainers.
Patch is quite possessive of his toys after being deprived of them earlier in life and this will need to be managed.
The centre believe he would be best as the only dog in the home and have said he should be adopted into an adult-only home.
Louise and Thelma - Jack Russell
Louise and Thelma are a special pair and the centre wish to preserve this by keeping them together with any new family.
They would like to be the only dogs in the home but may have walking pals, and can live with children aged over 14.
Anyone interested in adopting this inseparable duo will need to meet them a couple of times before taking them home.
Monica and Phoebe - Labrador Retriever
These friends are looking to find their forever homes together.
The centre have said they have lived a very sheltered life and are looking for a quiet adult-only home that will allow them to settle into their new surroundings.
They added they will need to have a secure and open garden where they can wander in around in a familiar environment.
Monica needs to have an operation to have an operation to have a lump removed from her side.
These two beautiful canines will make a fantastic addition to the right home and would love to meet their new family.
Zena - Bulldog cross
A very clever girl, Zena will need confident owners who can help her with socialisation around other dogs.
Adding to this, Zena will need to be only pooch in the house and walks will need to be without other dogs.
She loves to play but also enjoys her own space, and is able to live with children over 16.
The centre have said Zena would make a "fabulous addition" to the right family.
