A man in his 90s is in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by a car shortly after getting off a bus.
The incident happened at about 5.50pm on Monday (November 6) between Harrogate and Killinghall, with police now appealing for witnesses to the serious collision.
North Yorkshire Police say the crash happened on the A61 at the junction with Knox Mill Lane and involved a pedestrian and a Ford Fiesta.
The pedestrian, a man in his 90s, had just got off a bus.
He currently remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The Ford Fiesta was travelling northbound on the A61 in the direction of Killinghall, with police saying that the driver is helping them with their investigation.

The road was closed for several hours to allow us to carry out investigation work. It re-opened at 1.45am on Tuesday (November 7).
Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either the vehicle involved or the pedestrian in the moments leading up to it or has dashcam footage, is urged to make contact with us if they have not already done so.
