A fireworks display set to take place in Redcar and Cleveland tonight (Saturday, November 4) has been cancelled after a wet forecast.
The Guy Fawkes night display was set to start at 6pm tonight, at Marske Cricket Club, but organisers have announced it will not be taking place.
Wind and rain brought by the tail of Storm Ciarán mean that it cannot go ahead.
An organiser said: "Due to extremely wet conditions and more rain forecast, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Saturday's fireworks display.
"We are looking to rearrange this to Sunday, December 17, 2023.
"All tickets purchased already will be valid for the new date or refunded as appropriate."
Earlier in the week, organisers raised concerns about whether the event would go ahead, following the storm-battering that the region received.
