British music legend Paul Weller is set for a headline gig on the North Yorkshire coast next summer.

The iconic singer-songwriter will perform a selection of tunes from his career-spanning repertoire at Scarborough Open Air Theatre (OAT) on Sunday ,July 7.

Weller - known as The Modfather - will be joined by his own live band and special guests Stone Foundation at the 8,000-capacity venue.

Tickets will be available for general sale from 5pm on November 10 through the theatre’s official website.

Weller's headline spot adds to a star lineup including Fatboy Slim, Deacon Blue, JLS, Jess Glynne, Status Quo, and Busted for the theatre’s 2024 summer season presented by Cuffe and Taylor.

Julian Murray, venue programmer at Cuffe and Taylor, hailed Weller as a "true music icon" and anticipated an "incredible night" at Scarborough OAT.

Weller's influence on British music began as frontman of The Jam and later continued with The Style Council, before embarking on a successful solo career.

His 2022 compilation, Will of the People, followed his 17th solo album An Orchestrated Songbook, which was recorded with award-winning arranger Jules Buckley and the BBC Orchestra.

Joining him, Stone Foundation, a Midlands-based soul band and friends of Weller, celebrates 25 years of success and frequent collaborations with the music icon.
