It's that time of the year again when everyone is dressing up in their scariest costumes for the most spooky night of the year - are you in our gallery of Halloween 2023?

Whether you're 5 or 55, Halloween is the perfect opportunity to dress up as your favourite spooky character or pop culture reference and spend the night watching horror films or trick-or-treating.

This year, the North East has stepped out looking their very scariest, with the Scooby Doo Crew, Wednesday Addams and the Sanderson Sisters just a few of the characters roaming the streets this evening.

Other popular creepy costumes include little pumpkins, Jack Skellington and even Gandalf complete with his beard and stick.

Pets and pooches have even been involved in the action, with one dapper-looking pup dressing up as Harry Potter. 

In a Facebook call-out, we asked you to send us pictures of yourself and your family dressed up for the evening before the trick-or treating commences, and there were some terrifying entries.
