A woman from Stanley has been charged more than £800 after failing to tidy her messy back garden.
She failed to comply with a Community Protection Notice in relation to the amount of waste in the garden.
Pictures from the scene show bags of rubbish, a bed left upside down and children’s toys scattered everywhere.
The woman did not attend court and the case was proven against her in her absence.
She was fined a total of £839.
A Durham County Council Neighbourhood Warden spokesperson: “A female from the Stanley area has been prosecuted for failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice in relation to waste in their garden.
“The female did not attend court however it was dealt with in their absence and the case was proven.
