A motorcyclist has been left with life-threatening injuries and a road remains closed after a serious crash near a North East hotel this morning (Wednesday, October 25).
The A688, though Coundon, Bishop Auckland, has been shut by emergency services after a crash near the Park Head Hotel.
A two-vehicle collision - between a Seat Ibiza and a motorbike - has left the motorbike rider with "life-threatening injuries".
The rider has been hospitalised.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police were called at 8.00am this morning (October 25) to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A688, near the Park Head Hotel in Bishop Auckland.
"The incident involved a Seat Ibiza and a motorbike.
"The rider sustained life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.
"A road closure remains in place."
