A man has been charged with murder following an incident last year (May 27) which left a North East granddad dead.
A man, 47, has been charged with murder after a reported incident on York Road in Hartlepool, in which 59-year-old Mark Davison, from Easington in County Durham, died.
The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (October 24).

A 46-year-old woman previously arrested in connection with the incident was released with no further action.
A murder probe was launched last year following the death.
His family also released a statement at the time, paying tribute to the father and grandfather.
They said: “Mark was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.
"He is in the thoughts and prayers of his family and friends in the UK and in Gambia.”
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said at the time: "Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time."

"Following the incident, emergency services were called to assist Mr Davison but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A man and woman, both aged in their forties, were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.
"The man has been bailed whilst enquiries continue, and the woman has been released under investigation whilst enquiries are ongoing.
