Work on a new retail park in County Durham that will see national brands appear in the region has taken a step forward after a host of names have confirmed their units and six more are 'under offer'.
As part of the building of Fieldon Bridge Retail Park, in Bishop Auckland, several big-name brands have revealed that they will be making the site its home in the near future, with others suggesting that they might be going the same way.
Food outlets Domino’s Pizza, Burger King and North East restaurant Mama’s Pizzeria, which has a site near Houghton-le-Spring, have appeared on plans for the site.

Anytime Fitness gym will also open.

It is hoped the first retail units could open at the start of 2024, with the cinema due to open between mid-February and March.

The new retail park will add to an already large selection of stores for shoppers at the nearby Bishop Auckland Shopping Retail Park, which includes KFC and McDonald’s.
Alongside the confirmed units, the Fieldon Bridge masterplan also shows that six units are under offer.
While some of those under offer will be some of those listed above, it's hoped that several more big names will be confirmed soon, ready for the grand opening of some of the stores and restaurants at the beginning part of 2024.
