Derwent Reservoir in County Durham has been named as one of the UK’s most Instagrammable lakes to fish in, making it the perfect place to take a memorable picture or two.
It’s also a picturesque location to visit with the family to explore nature, as there are cycling and walking routes for all to enjoy around its border.
Dogs are also welcome at Derwent Waterside Park but must be kept on leads, however, there is also a 12-acre secured dog field for your four-legged friends to run wild.
Derwent Reservoir was ranked seventh place on the top 10 list by the fishing tackle shop, Fishing Republic.
The experts looked at the number of Instagram posts for each lake's hashtag to compile a list of the most Instagrammable lakes.
The research also looked at the best time of year for you to go fishing in these lakes.

Derwent Reservoir named as one of the UK’s most Instagrammable lakes
The Derwent Reservoir is situated on the border between County Durham and Northumberland and it holds an impressive 11,000 million gallons of water.
The Derwent Waterside Park website adds: “Coarse anglers who enjoy quality roach fishing, you are now able to fish all banks as any method. Derwent is suitable for disabled anglers with a disabled access platform on the south side of the dam.
“All fish stocked are from our own Teesdale fish farm, and some of those stocked are tagged fish with cash prizes available. You can loose feed and ground bait when any method fishing.”

One person who visited with their family said: “What a beautiful place to go for a walk or take the kids to play on the lovely playground along with a little shop and info centre.
“Cheap parking and WC's on hand. Will be going back soon foe sure.”

There are over 557,000 Instagram posts using the hashtag #LochLomond. Many posts depict hiking, boating, wild swimming and fishing at the popular destination.
