A County Durham multi-storey car park will be closed for a period while 'investigatory' works are undertaken.
Newgate Centre car park in Bishop Auckland will be closed from 4pm on Thursday (October 19) for investigations which will inform improvement works to be undertaken at a later date.
Durham County Council have said the area will reopen on Friday (October 20) when work is complete.

The work has been made possible after funding was secured via the Future High Street Fund.
The council have outlined alternative parking areas for those potentially inconvenienced by the project.

Long stay car parks
Kingsway (Castle Chare) - open Monday to Sunday, 24 hours.
Price: Monday to Saturday 8.00am - 6.00pm
Up to 24 hours: £2.10
Up to one week: £7.50
South Terrace - open Monday to Sunday, 24 hours
Price: Monday to Saturday 8.00am - 6.00pm
Up to two hours: 60p
Up to three hours: £1.60
All day: £2.10
Weekly permit: £7.50

Price: Monday to Saturday 8.00am - 6.00pm
Up to 24 hours: £2.10
Up to one week: £7.50

Price: Monday to Saturday 8.00am - 6.00pm
Up to 24 hours: £2.10
