A man who was arrested in connection with an assault which left a man with 'significant' facial injuries has been bailed.
The 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with an incident at a property on Wynyard Mews in Hartlepool at 5:20am on Saturday (October 14) and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
He was recalled to prison in relation to a separate matter.

A 31-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with the incident has since been released with no further action.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the property after a man, 44, suffered a significant injury to his face following a reported incident.
"The injured man was taken to hospital for surgery where he currently remains. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"Anyone with information regarding the incident at Wynyard Mews is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 204898."
The injured man was taken to hospital for surgery, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
