A man has been arrested after a vehicle stop led police to suspected crack cocaine and heroin on the driver’s lap.
Officers followed a Vauxhall Corsa in Middlesbrough on Thursday (October 12) afternoon after spotting suspected drugs activity.
They followed the vehicle, driven by a 41-year-old man, to Eastbourne shops, where police found wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin Class A drugs on his lap.

He was also found in possession of an amount of cash.
A search of a property linked to the man uncovered drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of suspected drugs.
The man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries, Cleveland Police said.
The force has urged anyone who suspects drug activity to report it.
A spokesperson said: “Anyone who wishes to report drugs activity in their local area, can do so by calling police on 101 or by reporting anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers, online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.”
