Fast food giant McDonald's has opened up its new restaurant that's located close to the A1 and only a 20-minute drive from Darlington.
The big brand announced on Wednesday (October 11) that its new venue, with a drive-thru, outside patio area and self-ordering kiosks in Northallerton had opened.
Located on Radcliffe Court in the town, the new restaurant has created around 100 full and part-time jobs and will feature table service and Digital Drive-Thru menu boards.

The restaurant will open for dine-in, takeaway, Drive-Thru and Click & Serve.
Opening hours will be open 6am-11pm, seven days a week.
The new franchise venture comes from local franchisee John Atherton, who already has venues in Thirsk, York and several other locations.
John Atherton, who now owns and operates eight McDonald’s restaurants in North Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted to be opening another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Northallerton and can’t wait to see local customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer.
"People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create.
"We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality.”
The restaurant is located close to the A1 and A19, while also meaning that people in Darlington are only 20 minutes away.

Before the Northallerton restaurant was built, people in Northallerton had 25 minutes to travel to the Leeming Bar McDonald's.
Alongside the features that you would normally see at a McDonald's, the brand-new fast-food restaurant also features several environmental features, which are:
- Roof mounted solar panels to support on-site generation of renewable energy.
- Fully modular building which allows the building to be reused in future.
- Timber window frames and partition walls have replaced the traditional aluminium and steel frames.
- Wall lettering from recycled material (including McDonald’s own coffee grounds)
