Pictures have emerged showing the progress being made on a multi-million-pound project to redevelop Darlington Station.
Cllr Jonathan Dulston, former leader of Darlington Borough Council (DBC), said he believes the £139 million works to transform the station will make the town one of the "leading destinations in the North."
Pictures of the development show significant progress being made on the development and has been earmarked by Dulston and Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen to be an important part of Darlington's future.

Dulston said: "Network North has already started in Darlington.
"Great to see the latest progress shots of the £139m transformation of Darlington Station.
"Today, I am reflecting on the work we did alongside Ben Houchen - Tees Valley Mayor and Peter Gibson MP to get this over the line last year!
"I am confident that Darlington in the next ten years will become one of the leading destinations in the North."

The project's plans include two new platforms on the Eastern side of the station, and a new car park, and are estimated to be complete in 2025.
The redevelopment also includes a multi-storey car park, transport interchange and gateway entrance connected to Central Park.
Secure parking for more than 600 cars with disabled bays and electric car charging points available is also planned for the station.
The project is planned to be completed in time for the 2025 Stockton and Darlington Railway bicentennial celebrations.
Speaking on the development, Mayor Ben Houchen said: "Giving Darlington the gateway it deserves is vital to its future and the wider region’s need for better connections.

“It’s great to see how Bank Top will be transformed – we already have spades in the ground and the foundations of the new entrance hall and car park going in.
"Our rail network has been restrained for too long – and this immense project with its cutting-edge interchange will cut journey times and give Darlington a station it can be proud of.
“It will also boost investment and make our region even more attractive to investors.”
