A serious crash on the A171 in Whitby hospitalised two people last night.
The incident caused the road to be closed and traffic built up around the area.
Police officers and ambulances attended the scene.
Two people were taken to James Cook Hospital for treatment.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were asked by our colleagues at Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist them at a serious road traffic collision on the A171 in Whitby at 7pm on Sunday, 8 October.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and an officer and transported two patients to James Cook Hospital."
