Today we name four people who were fined in court after failing to comply with community protection notices requiring them to remove waste from their gardens and yards.
Their cases were heard at Peterlee Magistrates' Court, where brought under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Magistrates were told they failed to follow the notices issued by Durham County Council,
Michah Louise Wanless of Magdalene Place, Ferryhill failed to comply with a community protection notice on or before January 20 in respect of waste in the yard of the premises.
The case was found proved in her absence and she was fined £220, along with a surcharge of £88 and costs of £130 - a total of £438.
Rebecca Bell of Albert Street, Shildon failed to comply with a community protection notice on or before January 26 in respect of waste at the front the premises.
The case was proved in her absence and she was £60 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £24 and costs of £288 - a total of £372.
Pauline Fluen of Lancaster Hill, Peterlee, failed to comply with a community protection notice on or before May 3 in respect of accumulations of waste in the yard.
The case was found proved and she was £220 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £88 and costs of £531 - a total of 839.
Adelle Trotter of Braithwait Road, Peterlee, failed to comply with a community protection notice relating to accumulations of waste in the yard of 14 Braemar Terrace Horden on or before May 9.
The case was found proved and she was fined £220 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £88 and costs of £456 - a total of £764.
